  • Mark Cironi - President and Founder
    Mark CironiMark Cironi has over 30 years of experience in corporate management, sales management, and project management. Throughout his career he has sold, managed and implemented technology in the information technology industry with IBM, Oracle and Digital Equipment Corporation. Under Mr. Cironi's direction, major projects at Alltel Corporation, Goodyear, Michelin, British Petroleum, Raytheon and Lear Jet were all delivered to successful completion. Since the founding of Green Energy Technologies in 2006, he has marshaled the resources of local companies to develop a wind technology for the commercial and industrial marketplace.

    He is listed as the secondary inventor on the Wind Sphere™ patent. Mr. Cironi is a member of Green Energy Ohio, the Ohio Wind Working Group, and the American Wind Energy Association.
  • Mark A Cironi - Vice President, Business Development
    Mark CironiFor the past five years, Mark A. Cironi has served as Vice President of Business Development for Green Energy Technologies. He has headed the feasibility study division with sales and implementation of anemometer and met tower installations throughout the United States and the Caribbean. He has also headed the expansion plan to commercialize the Wind Sphere™ for information technology, remote management, manufacturing equipment, and real estate.

    He is a member of the American Wind Energy Association and holds a Bachelors of Science in Technology from Kent State University and Associates in Business Management in Technology from the University of Akron. In the nine years previous to Green Energy Technologies, Mr. Cironi served as a General Manager for CompUSA Inc, and started their commercial sales division for the Cleveland, Ohio market.
  • Dr. David Spera - Aeronautical Consultant
    Dr. David Spera's expertise is in the fields of Aerospace Engineering, Structural Mechanics, and Mechanics of Materials. Dr. Spera has over 45 years of experience in performing, leading, and evaluating engineering research and development projects. His technical specialties include advancing the technology of wind turbines for generating electricity, analyzing the aerodynamic, structural, and mechanical performance of wind tunnels, analyzing and improving the structural integrity of components, analyzing and reporting test data, and writing and editing technical publications. Dr. Spera served as the Chief Engineer of NASA's wind turbine projects and Deputy Division Chief for Technical Assessment on the Space Station Freedom Project. Dr. Spera now works as an independent consultant for DASCON Engineering, which he founded in 1991. He is Lead Author and Editor of the internationally recognized book Wind Turbine Technology and led the development of the ANSIIASME Performance Test Code for Wind Turbines, which is an industry standard. Dr. Spera holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics and a M.S. in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Wisconsin, and B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.S. in Physics/Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Denison University, respectively.
  • Nick Merlini - Manufacturing Consultant
    Nick MerliniNick Merlini, co-founder of MRD Solutions LLC, has worked in the custom machine tool and metal removal industry for over 30 years. Mr. Merlini is a member of the Association for Manufacturing Technology and Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He has provided direction and insight through all phases of project management from the engineering design development to shop floor assembly to evaluating performance data.

    Mr. Merlini has been active in manufacturing process development and high-volume production techniques with emphasis on new materials and construction technologies. His management experience with manufacturing, quality control and equipment start-ups bring a unique perspective to his product development and testing methods. Mr. Merlini is a seasoned traveler with business trips to China, Japan, Mexico, Canada and Germany.
  • Al Rapp - Manufacturing Consultant
    Al RappOver the past 28 years, Al Rapp has worked in the Custom Machine Tool industry and is an active member of the Association for Manufacturing Technology. As a self-motivator, Mr. Rapp started as an electrician wiring panels and machines, working his way into management positions. Mr. Rapp is now a successful business owner creating and implementing new technologies throughout the industry.

    As co-founder of MRD Solutions LLC, he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, supporting machine tool product lines. Mr. Rapp has successfully initiated and developed customer service departments as profit centers and has worked as a consultant to provide electrical and mechanical assistance for companies in Canada and Virginia. He has worked with the University of Michigan to help develop and support a RMT machine tool for the Universities R&D center.
  • Michael L. Climaco - General Counsel
    Michael ClimacoMichael L. Climaco is Counsel in the Cleveland office of Tucker Ellis LLP. He is known for his representation of government entities in commercial, civil, and administrative matters. He has served as Special Counsel to four Ohio Attorneys General, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, and the Auditor of State, along with cities throughout Northeast Ohio. As a member of Cleveland City Council (1972-76), Michael served as Chairman of the Legislation and Aviation and Airport and Lakefront Development Committees. He served as Vice Chairman of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party (1974-78). Additionally, Michael served as Chairman of the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees (2002-03). Recently, Michael has become extensively involved in working with companies in the area of alternative power sources and advising companies in the region as to the extent and use of wind energy. He was a delegate to the Wind Energy Conference held in Houston in 2008, Chicago in 2009 and Atlanta 2012.

    Prior to joining Tucker Ellis, Mr. Climaco's practice specialized in airport, real estate, and governmental law with an emphasis on economic development. He has played a major role in numerous development projects, including: The Gateway Development Corp., negotiating the initial leases with the Cleveland Indians and the Cavaliers, and Cleveland's Cable Television Franchise (the first major fiber optic and most comprehensive and advanced cable television franchise package for a major city). His municipal law experience placed him in the specialized role of being the draftsman for the city of Cleveland's last two franchises, including cable television and the city's Thermal Energy Franchise. In addition, Michael was also involved in projects with Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and NASA Corporate Park, which won a national award for the development of approximately 600,000 square feet of office space and 2,000 jobs for various subcontractors of NASA.
  • Nicholas C. York - Governmental Affairs Advisor
    Nicholas YorkNicholas C. York is a Partner in the Cleveland office and the Co-Chair of Tucker Ellis' Business Department, which comprises all of the firm's business and transactional lawyers. Nick previously served as Chair of the firm's Public Law Practice Group. Nick represents a wide variety of clients in corporate and administrative matters.

    Nick's corporate work has been primarily with middle market growth companies and entrepreneurs for whom he has served a general counsel type role, assisting with a variety of corporate, finance and regulatory matters. Nick's governmental experience includes work with the Executive and Legislative branches at the local, state, and federal level, including the representation of clients before various regulatory agencies. He has also represented a number of State of Ohio agencies, including the Ohio Department of Development, several state Universities and Ohio's largest Pension Funds.

    Nick has previously served as Vice Chairman of the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), the largest small business organization in the country, and on the board of the National Small Business Association (NSBA) in Washington, D.C. In addition, Nick was a publicly elected member of the Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities, a water utility serving numerous cities and townships throughout Northeast Ohio. He has served as general counsel and a board member for several other non-profit organizations over the years.

    Nick's broad experience in business, legal and civic endeavors has resulted in his serving as a featured seminar speaker to various groups on topics including, Starting and Growing a Business, Protecting Intellectual Property Assets, and Grass Roots Government Advocacy among many others.
  • Christine Dodd J.D. - Governmental Affairs Advisor
    Christine Dodd

    Christine Dodd serves as a Government Relations Consultant advising on key energy policy developments at the federal, state and local level and identifying key opportunities in renewable energy deployment. Christine is a graduate of Ohio University and University of Cincinnati College of Law and has served as Legislative Director for Congressman Sawyer, Senator McCain and Senator Alexander focusing on health and energy policy. She also served as a Government Relations Executive at IBM in Washington, DC and the Director of Government Relations for the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron.
